WESIHAT2.0 is a senior friendly web-based health information system for educating older adults of lifestyle approaches for reducing risk of cognitive impairment. WESIHAT2.0 consists of four main modules such as Screening tools to detect cognitive (TUA-WELLNESS), 10 guidelines for memory enhancement, Health diary and Healthy menu guideline.
INSPIRATION OF THE INVENTION
WESIHAT2.0 invention was inspired by another health information system in Australia known as Body Brain Life (BBL) developed for dementia risk reduction. BBL emphasized on lifestyle modifications for prevention of dementia
PROBLEM STATEMENT & CURRENT ISSUES
- Malaysia is moving towards becoming an ageing country, with 14% of the population aged 60 years and above in the year 2035.
- Cognitive impairment is a transitional state between normal cognition and dementia. Most individuals with cognitive impairment have high risk of progressing to dementia.
- In Malaysia, prevalence of cognitive impairment is about 16% and the associated risk factors are low education level, not practicing calorie restriction, limited use of modern gadgets, lack of involvement in technical based activities , high blood glucose and hyperlipidemia. Proper lifestyle intervention is needed to reverse cognitive impairment.
INVENTIVENESS & NOVELTY
- This is a senior-friendly Malay language web-based health education system for educating older adults about strategies to delay progression to cognitive impairment. This system has a screening tool known as TUA-WELLNESS for identifying an individual’s risk of cognitive impairment. This tool will provide users with personalized recommendation for lifestyle modification
USEFULNESS & APPLICATION
WESIHAT2.0 can empower older adults to lead healthy lifestyle through Healthy Screening. This impressiveness system also is useful for educating older adults during the pandemic period when direct consultation is not possible. WESIHAT2.0 can be used in Geriatric Clinic or Health Clinic during consultation with patients.
IMPACT OF THE PRODUCT
WESIHAT2.0 is a novel and cost-effective mHealth technology for increasing users’ knowledge of non-pharmacological approaches in reducing risk of cognitive impairment. It can be able to educate a large group of older adults and thus reduce the health care cost.
MARKET POTENTIAL WESIHAT 2.0 can be used by stakeholders, ie. Industries, NGOs, professionals in health and social involved in the care of older adults. This website also targeted the caregivers and institutions related to older adults such as Senior Citizen Centre (PAWE), Nursing Home etc.

Vãmuse C (Virtual Museum e-Commerce)
The Virtual Museum E-Commerce system (Vãmuse C) has been upgraded from the existing virtual museum system (muziummaya.terengganu.com.my). The system aims to design and develop virtual museum applications, considering the context dimensions through ethnographic research methods to reinforce the bilingualized mobile device interface design of Malay and English. This project also develops a transaction feature for the display of artefacts stored in the repository. The goal is to generate revenue and, at the same time to instill an appreciation for preserving digital collections.
